Released earlier this year “The Sky is Rising” makes a case that the entertainment industry isn’t losing as much as everyone claims. In fact they argue that things are booming especially for consumers and creators.
Instead of going on tour for their latest album, Collapse Into Now, R.E.M. commissioned filmmakers to make short films for each track on the record, screening the films around the country as well as releasing them online. While the mournful “Oh My Heart,” is a moving followup to 2008 Accelerate’s “Houston,” the films for “ÜBerlin” and “It Happened Today” have a sweetness and movement worth checking out.
