Welcome to the second episode of “Building Storyworlds - the art, craft & biz of storytelling in 21c.” The podcast is a companion to a course that is being taught this fall at Columbia University. The goal of the podcast is to stimulate discussion and debate around the evolution of storytelling.
Our guest today is Andrea Phillips, an award-winning transmedia writer, game designer, and author. Her work includes a variety of educational and commercial projects: The Maester’s Path for HBO’s Game of Thrones with Campfire Media; America 2049 with human rights nonprofit Breakthrough; Thomas Dolby’s Floating City game; and the independent commercial ARG Perplex City. She is also the author of the A Creator’s Guide to Transmedia Storytelling: How to Captivate and Engage Audiences across Multiple Platforms which is required reading for the course.
